Shift: AM 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM | PM 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM | NOC 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM
Pay: $87.85/hr (All Inclusive)

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable, clinically skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver safe, consistent, and patient-centered nursing care within a secure correctional healthcare environment in Susanville, CA. This position is ideal for RNs who thrive in structured, fast-paced settings and want to make a meaningful impact in underserved and high-acuity populations. Responsibilities include assessments, medication administration, wound care, triage, documentation, care planning, and collaboration with custody and medical teams to maintain safety and continuity of care. This role offers a strong opportunity to advance skills in correctional, emergency, and behavioral health nursing.

Requirements

• Active physical California RN license (hard copy required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in correctional, ER, ICU, med-surg, psych, or acute-care environments
• Current BLS certification from AHA only
• Ability to pass DOJ/FBI background check and full correctional security clearance
• Strong assessment, communication, and de-escalation abilities

Skills and Competencies

• High-level clinical judgment and rapid assessment skills
• Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations
• Strong triage capabilities and emergency-response readiness
• Effective communication with RNs, LVNs, mental health staff, and custody teams
• Knowledge of correctional protocols, safety standards, and infection control

Unit Information

• Setting: Correctional Facility – Inmate Healthcare Unit
• Support Staff: RNs, LVNs, Physicians, Mental Health Clinicians

Travel Contract Details

• 6-month renewable assignment
• Weekly pay via direct deposit
