Salary Range: $35,984.00 - $62,971.00

Reporting to the Associate Warden, the Correctional Sergeant I’s job responsibilities include the following:
This position provides supervision for subordinate staff.
Conduct shift line-up, create shift assignments, and inspect all personnel to determine if they are physically and mentally capable of assuming an assigned post.
Complete, review and maintain time reports, duty rosters, leave schedules, performance evaluations and administrative forms.
Account for persons and funds and ensure that all assigned equipment is operationally ready.
Conduct investigations.
Develop prisons operational, emergency plans and post orders. Work is performed according to standard departmental procedures and supplemental instructions are received through established chain of command.
Supervise offender counts and the maintenance of all records so that offenders will be always accounted for; supervise periodic search of offender quarters for contraband.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with https://oshr.nc.gov/state-employee-resources/benefits . The selected candidate may be selected to work any shift and will work weekends and holidays to ensure 24/7 staff coverage.

If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.
North Piedmont CRV is a Confinement in Response to Violation correctional facility for females, housing 136 offenders, with 56 employees. Probation/parole violators are housed for up to a 90-day sentence.

Minimum Education and Experience

High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of experience as a correctional officer; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Necessary Special Qualifications Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
