Project Description: This project is to modernize a legacy solution that provides emergency assistance to eligible individual/families.

Role Description

  • Design, develop, and maintain business rules using Progress Corticon (Rule flows, Rule Sheets, Vocabulary, and Rule Assets).
  • Implement changes to rulesets based on requirement updates, policy changes, and functional specifications.
  • Optimize rule performance, structure, and reusability following best practices.
  • Perform rule validation, rule testing, and conflict/resolution analysis using Corticon Rule Analyzer and Test Suites.

Integration & Technical Delivery

  • Integrate Corticon Decision Services with .NET APIs, web services, and existing application components.
  • Deploy rule artifacts across environments and support versioning and migration activities.
  • Troubleshoot rule execution issues, service failures, and data inconsistencies during SIT, UAT, and PROD.

Collaboration & Documentation

  • Work closely with business teams to translate policies and requirements into executable rule logic.
  • Collaborate with QA teams in building test cases, rule validation data sets, and test scripts.

Support & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide production support, root cause analysis, and timely resolutions.
  • Identify improvement opportunities in rule architecture, performance, development process, and automation.
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint ceremonies, and release planning.

Required Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Progress Corticon (rule modeling, vocabulary design, rule flows, service containers).
  • Proficiency with .NET/C#, including building and consuming REST/SOAP services.
  • Understanding of JSON, XML, XSD, and integration patterns.
  • Experience working with relational databases (SQL Server or Oracle).
  • Solid understanding of SDLC processes, including Waterfall/Agile/Scrum.
  • Ability to analyze complex business policies and translate them into logical rule sets.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in public sector eligibility systems.
  • Knowledge of Corticon 6.x, decision engine optimization, and web deployment best practices.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps pipelines, Git, and repository branching strategies.
  • Understanding of enterprise architecture concepts and microservices integration.
  • Experience writing automated rule tests and regression test frameworks.

Years of Experience

  • 3–6 years total IT experience
  • 2+ years hands-on development using Progress Corticon
  • Experience with rule engines or decision automation tools is a strong advantage
