ABIS is looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Cost Accountant specializing in Costing & Budgeting to join our finance department. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for managing budgeting processes, analyzing cost data, and providing accurate cost reports to support financial planning and decision-making. This role plays a key part in tracking project costs, ensuring budget adherence, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and analyze cost reports, budgets, and forecasts.

Monitor and control project costs to ensure compliance with approved budgets.

Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization.

Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings.

Prepare and complete internal cost audits.

Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.

Analyze the data collected and log a detailed record of the results.

Analyze any changes in goods or services provided in order to determine what effect it has on the cost.

Analyze costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual costs.

Make estimates of new and proposed costs.

Provide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services.

Assist in audits and general ledger preparation.

Conduct physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program.
Requirements-
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Minimum of 3-5 years experience in cost accounting, budgeting, or financial analysis.

Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and budgeting techniques.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Experience with ERP systems is an advantage (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365).
