Cost control engineer

We are seeking an experienced Cost Control Engineer to join our project controls team. In this role, you will monitor, analyze, and control project costs over the lifecycle of construction or engineering projects. You’ll work closely with project managers, procurement, finance, and contractors to ensure the financial health of the projects and adherence to budgets.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or related field
• Typically 2+ years of experience in cost engineering, project controls, or cost analysis
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, financial principles, and project accounting
• Experience with cost control tools / software (e.g., Primavera, Procore, SAP, MS Project)
• Advanced proficiency in Excel (modeling, pivot tables, formulas)
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and excellent problem-solving skills
• Good communication and stakeholder management capabilities
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and across multiple projects.
• Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
• Professional certifications (e.g. CCP – Certified Cost Professional, PMI-SP, CMA)
• Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)
• Knowledge of local construction industry standards, rates, and market trends
• Experience in contracts, claims, and dispute resolution.
