Job Summary:


The Cost Control Engineer is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on project costs to ensure all projects are completed within budget. This role involves developing cost estimates, tracking expenditures, and identifying potential financial risks and opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering or a related field, with proven experience in cost management within the construction industry.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement project cost control procedures and systems.
  • Prepare detailed budget forecasts, cost estimates, and financial reports for all construction projects.
  • Monitor project expenditures, commitments, and progress against the approved budget.
  • Identify and analyze cost variances, and develop corrective action plans to mitigate overruns.
  • Work closely with project managers, procurement teams, and other departments to ensure cost-effective practices.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions and project documentation.
  • Assist in the preparation of project bids and proposals.
  • Provide regular reports and presentations on project financial status to senior management.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, market prices, and best practices in cost control.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a cost control or project control role within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency with cost management software (e.g., Primavera, SAP, or similar).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in English
