Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement cost control strategies and procedures to monitor project expenses effectively.
- Prepare and maintain project budgets, cost estimates, and forecasts throughout the project lifecycle.
- Track and analyze project expenditures to ensure compliance with budgetary limits.
- Conduct regular reviews of project costs and provide variance reports to project managers.
- Collaborate with project teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and financial risks.
- Assist in the preparation of progress billing and assist in invoice verification for suppliers and contractors.
- Provide technical support in developing financial reports, including cash flow forecasts.
- Participate in project meetings to provide updates on cost performance and financial forecasting.
- Ensure that all financial reporting and analysis is compliant with the company's accounting policies.
- Facilitate communication between the finance department and project teams to ensure transparency in financial matters.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in cost engineering or cost control in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Proficient in cost management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of construction contracts and risk management is a plus.
