Cost Control Engineer - Cairo

3. Role Purpose:

Carries out project cost control activities, including budget preparation, expenditure tracking, and cost variance analysis. The role supports the project management team by providing accurate cost reports, identifying risks, and ensuring that all financial aspects of the project remain aligned with contract requirements and timelines.

4. Key Accountabilities:

• Cost Planning & Budgeting: Develop and maintain detailed cost plans and budgets for construction projects, ensuring alignment with project scopes and contracts.
• Cost Monitoring & Control: Monitor project expenditures against the budget, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions to maintain financial control.
• Cost Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate cost reports, forecasts, and analysis for project management and stakeholders, highlighting cost trends and risks.
• Change Management: Evaluate and control costs related to project changes, variations, and claims, collaborating closely with project managers and procurement teams.
• Data Analysis & Forecasting: Analyze project data, trends, and productivity to forecast future costs and cash flow requirements.
• Coordination: Coordinate with project managers, quantity surveyors, procurement, and finance teams to ensure seamless cost management.
• Cost Control Procedures: Implement and maintain cost control systems, procedures, and best practices compliant with company standards and Egyptian construction regulations.
• Risk Management: Identify cost-related risks and support the development of mitigation strategies.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of cost-related documents, including invoices, contracts, and correspondence.

7. Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

·        Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

·        Minimum 1 years of experience as a Cost Control Engineer in construction projects, preferably within Egypt or the MENA region.

·        Strong knowledge of cost control techniques, construction methodologies, and project management.

·        Proficiency with cost control software and tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Excel, SAP, or similar).

·        Familiarity with Egyptian construction contracts, standards, and financial regulations.

·        Excellent analytical, numerical, and reporting skills.

·        Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

·        Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic project environment

·        Proficient in English.
