Cost Control Manager

Job Summary:

The Cost Control Manager is responsible for planning, monitoring, and controlling all production and operational costs across the organization. The role ensures accurate cost measurement, variance analysis, and cost optimization to support profitability, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making, particularly during periods of expansion and increased production capacity.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective cost control systems across manufacturing and operations.
  • Oversee industrial cost accounting, including standard costing, actual costing, and variance analysis.
  • Monitor raw materials, labor, overhead, and production costs to ensure alignment with budgets and targets.
  • Prepare detailed cost reports, dashboards, and analyses for management review.
  • Participate in budget preparation, cost forecasting, and financial planning related to production activities.
  • Analyze cost variances and identify root causes; recommend corrective actions and efficiency improvements.
  • Support pricing, profitability, and margin analysis for products and production lines.
  • Collaborate closely with production, supply chain, engineering, and finance teams to control and optimize costs.
  • Monitor inventory valuation, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods costing.
  • Ensure accuracy of cost data within ERP systems and improve cost-related processes and controls.
  • Support audits by providing cost documentation, explanations, and reconciliations.
  • Lead and develop the cost control team to ensure accuracy, consistency, and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute financial and cost insights to support senior management and strategic initiatives.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost control or cost accounting within an industrial or manufacturing of Food & Baverage environment.
  • Strong expertise in industrial cost accounting, standard costing, and variance analysis.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and production cost structures.
  • High analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate cost data into actionable insights for management.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and cost analysis tools.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Good command of English (written and spoken).
  • Strong organizational skills with a proactive and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Leadership capability to manage, coach, and develop team members
