Cost & Control Officer

Job Overview:
The Cost & Control Officer is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and controlling operational costs to ensure financial efficiency and compliance with company budgets and policies. The role requires strong analytical and reporting skills to evaluate financial data, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support management in decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control departmental expenses in accordance with approved budgets.
  • Analyze cost data and prepare detailed cost reports, variance analysis, and financial summaries.
  • Track operational costs and identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of expenditures, budgets, and financial transactions.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cost control reports for management review.
  • Coordinate with finance, procurement, and operations teams to ensure proper cost allocation.
  • Review purchase requests, invoices, and expense claims to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor project or departmental spending against budgets and highlight deviations.
  • Ensure proper documentation and internal controls for all cost-related activities.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required financial data and reports.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent reporting and data interpretation abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, financial reporting tools, and ERP systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis.
  • Ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet reporting deadlines.

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in cost control, financial analysis, or budgeting.
  • Experience in cost reporting, variance analysis, and financial monitoring will be preferred.
