Job Overview
The Cost Control & Planning Engineer will support the client’s project management team by monitoring project schedules, controlling costs, and ensuring alignment between progress, budget, and contractual requirements. The role involves detailed planning, reporting, and analysis to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget..
Key Responsibilities

Develop, review, and maintain the project schedule (baseline and updates)

Monitor project progress and compare against planned timelines

Perform critical path analysis and identify potential delays

Prepare and update progress reports (daily, weekly, monthly)

Track project costs, commitments, and expenditures

Analyze cost variances and recommend corrective actions

Review contractors’ schedules, progress reports, and payment applications

Support evaluation of claims, variations, and extensions of time (EOT)

Coordinate with project team, contractors, and consultants on planning issues
-
Ensure integration between cost control and project scheduling
-
Assist in risk analysis and forecasting (time and cost impact)

Maintain proper records of project performance data
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field

Minimum 5–8 years of experience in planning and cost control for construction projects

Experience in industrial or factory construction projects is preferred
-
Strong knowledge of planning software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced level preferred)

Familiarity with cost control systems and reporting methods

Experience working in the Middle East is an advantage

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Preferred Skills

Knowledge of contract conditions (e.g., FIDIC Contracts)

Experience in delay analysis methods (EOT, claims support)

Ability to work with large data sets and generate clear reports
