Job Title: Cost Controller

Job Summary:
The Cost Controller is responsible for monitoring and controlling all cost-related activities across operations, ensuring accurate cost allocation, budget adherence, and effective cost reduction. This role involves analyzing food and beverage costs, verifying inventory transactions, and providing regular financial insights to support management decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly cost reports for food, beverage, and other operational areas.
- Analyze consumption patterns, variances, and wastage to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Review and verify purchase orders, invoices, and receiving reports to ensure cost accuracy.
- Maintain updated costing sheets for all menu items and recipes.
- Conduct and verify regular stock counts for all outlets, stores, and kitchens.
- Reconcile stock variances and ensure accurate postings in the inventory system.
- Ensure that all transfers, adjustments, and wastage are properly documented and approved.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and monthly forecasts for cost of sales and expenses.
- Monitor budget vs. actual performance and report deviations with recommendations.
- Ensure proper implementation and maintenance of inventory and cost control systems.
- Liaise with purchasing, receiving, and kitchen teams to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required cost data and documentation.
- Prepare detailed cost and inventory reports for management review.
- Provide menu engineering reports highlighting profitable and underperforming items.
- Generate periodic cost of goods sold (COGS) and variance analysis reports.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Cost Controller, preferably in the hospitality or F&B industry.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory control, and procurement processes.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/inventory management software (e.g., FMC, Oracle, SAP, etc.).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and coordination abilities.
