Cost Estimation Electro-Mechanical Engineer Role Summary
Electro-Mechanical Engineer responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for electro-mechanical systems and projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracting, to support bidding, budgeting, and project planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for electro-mechanical works (HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, firefighting, and mechanical equipment).
- Analyze drawings, BOQs, specifications, and tender documents.
- Perform quantity take-offs and material take-offs (MTO).
- Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations and conduct cost comparisons.
- Develop project budgets, cost breakdown structures (CBS), and pricing sheets.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
- Coordinate with design, procurement, and project teams to ensure accurate estimates.
- Monitor cost variations, change orders, and claims during project execution.
- Prepare cost reports and support tender submissions.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electro-Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in cost estimation and tendering for electro-mechanical projects.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Proficient in MS Excel and estimation software.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
