Cost Estimator -Quantity Surveyor

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out precise quantity take-offs and material measurements for Civil, Structural, and MEP works from IFC drawings, shop drawings, and project specifications.
• Prepare, validate, and maintain detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs) in accordance with contract requirements and industry standards.
• Develop accurate cost estimates, budgets, and value engineering proposals to optimize cost efficiency and project profitability.
• Review subcontractor and supplier quotations, evaluate variation claims, and support contract negotiations.
• Track and monitor project expenditures, material consumption, and prepare cost-to-completion forecasts.
• Prepare interim valuations, progress payment certificates, and final account settlements.
• Administer contracts in line with FIDIC and other recognized forms of contract.
• Ensure strict adherence to approved project specifications, drawings, codes, and regulatory frameworks.
• Collaborate with planning, procurement, engineering, and construction teams to ensure alignment of financial and operational objectives.
• Provide management with regular cost reports, financial status updates, and cash flow projections.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of contracts, variations, RFIs, correspondence, and payment records.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
• 7–10 years of professional experience in GCC, with a focus on large-scale, high-rise, or mixed-use developments.
• Proven expertise in both Civil and MEP quantity surveying functions.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, CostX, Bluebeam, Planswift, MS Excel, and other cost management software.
• Strong understanding of FIDIC and other standard forms of contract.
• Excellent skills in cost analysis, negotiation, and problem-solving.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
• GCC experience and a valid driving license are mandatory.
