A fantastic opportunity to join our talented Cost Planning team in our Dubai Head Office as a Cost Manager.
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and client-focused Quantity Surveyor to play a key role in the delivery of pre-contract services for a diverse range of prestigious new construction projects across the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
Duties & Responsibilities:
As a Cost Manager within our Pre-Contract team, your responsibilities will encompass the full spectrum of pre-contract activities, including but not limited to:
- Developing detailed and accurate cost estimates at various stages of project development, from feasibility studies to detailed design.
- Creating and managing robust cost plans, ensuring projects remain within budget and providing proactive cost control measures.
- Performing accurate and efficient quantity take-offs from architectural and engineering drawings.
- Preparing comprehensive and well-structured Bills of Quantities in various formats to facilitate the tendering process.
- Developing and managing project cash flow projections to support financial planning and control.
- Preparing clear, concise, and comprehensive tender documents, including instructions to tenderers, forms of tender, and contract conditions.
- Assisting in the preparation and review of various forms of construction contracts and sub-contracts.
- Identifying and implementing value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs without compromising quality or functionality.
- Conducting thorough benchmarking analysis of project costs against comparable projects to ensure competitiveness and identify potential savings.
- Providing strategic procurement advice to clients, including the selection of appropriate procurement routes and contractor selection processes.
- Developing compelling proposals for consultancy services and drafting clear and comprehensive consultancy agreements.
- Providing pre-contract commercial and contractual advice to clients.
Key Skills & Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of demonstrable experience working as a Quantity Surveyor with a significant focus on pre-contract activities.
- Extensive experience in measuring and taking off quantities across various building and infrastructure project types.
- Proven ability to prepare accurate and detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
- Strong proficiency in developing and managing comprehensive cost plans.
- Demonstrable experience in conducting benchmarking analysis.
- Proven ability to identify and implement value engineering initiatives.
- Solid understanding of different forms of construction contracts.
- Experience in preparing tender documents and managing the tender process.
- Proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- A proactive and results-oriented approach.
- Familiarity with construction practices and regulations in the UAE and/or Saudi Arabia is advantageous.
Qualifications, Skills & Training
- A bachelor s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related construction discipline.
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, AIQS, PICQS) is highly desirable.
