Position Overview – Counselor
The Counselor will be responsible for guiding patients emotionally and mentally through their healing journey – from the first detailed discussion about their concerns to ongoing follow-ups. You will help patients understand their diagnosis, treatment plan, lifestyle changes, and support them in building trust in the holistic process of Cure Wellness Centre.
This role requires high empathy, excellent communication skills, patience, and the ability to explain health concepts in simple, reassuring language.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Patient Counselling & Education
- Conduct structured counselling sessions for new and follow-up patients (in-person/online).
- Understand patient history, concerns, emotions, and expectations in depth.
- Help patients and families cope with anxiety, fear, or resistance to treatment.
- Build long-term, trust-based relationships with patients and their families.
- Offer emotional support during flare-ups, slow response, or relapses.
- Identify patients who are demotivated, irregular, or at risk of drop-out and proactively counsel them.
- Handle complaints or dissatisfaction sensitively and escalate complex issues to the senior doctor/management when needed.
2. Treatment & Clinic Coordination
- Coordinate with doctors, relationship managers, communication managers and reception team to ensure a smooth patient journey.
- Ensure counselling notes are accurately recorded in the system/EMR after each session.
- Align with clinic schedules, follow-up dates, and medicine dispatch timelines so patients receive clear instructions.
3. Communication & Documentation
- Maintain accurate counselling records, follow-up notes, and progress trackers.
- Make reminder calls/messages for follow-ups, renewals, and reviews.
- Use WhatsApp/phone/email professionally as per clinic communication and confidentiality policies.
5. Professional Conduct & Policy Adherence
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information and records.
- Follow dress code, communication and misconduct policies of Cure Wellness Centre.
- Participate in internal training, CMEs, and performance reviews to continuously upgrade counselling skills.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education (Preferred):
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Psychology / Counselling / Clinical Psychology / Social Work / Healthcare Management, OR
- Any graduate with strong experience in patient counselling, mental health support, or healthcare communication.
Experience:
- 1–3 years of experience in counselling (healthcare, wellness, psychology, or related field) preferred.
- Freshers with a strong theoretical background in psychology/counseling and excellent communication may also be considered.
Core Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent verbal communication in Hindi (English/Hinglish is an added advantage).
- High empathy, patience, and non-judgmental attitude.
- Ability to explain medical/health concepts in simple, clear language.
- Strong listening and rapport-building skills.
- Basic computer skills and comfort with using CRM/clinic software, WhatsApp and Excel.
- Ability to handle emotional conversations calmly and professionally.
Working Hours
- Regular working hours: 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, as per clinic policy.
