Counselor

Location: Boston, MA - Bradston Street, Suffolk County House of Corrections
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm
Pay rate: $28.85/hour

The Counselor is responsible for:

• Providing psychoeducation and evidence-based treatment to offenders (pretrial and sentenced men and women) according to the approved curriculum and completing all required documentation in the case record (OMS).
• Facilitating 2-3 groups daily, based on current scheduling.
• Demonstrating the ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities and complete duties in the allotted time.
• Arriving for work on time and adheres to the programs attendance policies.
• Works cooperatively with SCSD personnel to ensure smooth operation and coordination of program.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in human services, criminal justice education or closely related field required
• CADC, LADC II or other comparable certification/license or equivalent experience with substance use treatment groups/services preferred.
• Experience working with justice involved individuals and/or in a correctional setting preferred.
• Knowledge of SUD/MAT population and experience working with justice involved individuals in a correctional setting
• Staff must be able to pass extensive background check and pass drug screening
