Position Summary | Purpose
In the Counter Sales role, you serve as the face of Betts Truck Parts & Service to customers visiting the
store. You provide a high level of service, product knowledge, and efficiency to ensure each customer
has an excellent experience while representing and modeling the Betts Way.
Responsibilities | Duties
Counter Sales Representative I
- Represent Betts Company in a respectful, knowledgeable, and professional manner to
customers, vendors, and other contacts.
- Respond to customer inquiries (in-person, phone, or electronic) regarding parts availability and
pricing.
- Suggest related products to increase sales.
- Pull parts from stock or coordinate with the warehouse to fulfill orders, including service team
requests.
- Restock and maintain organized showrooms.
- Serve as a product and vendor resource to educate customers and assist in purchase decisions.
- Navigate vendor websites to source products for customers.
- Continuously expand product and vendor knowledge.
- Keep sales software current with accurate sales and customer information.
- Process orders from the outside sales team and assist service staff with parts identification and
sourcing.
- Complete transactions, including invoices, credits, and point-of-sale processing.
- Meet or exceed monthly sales goals; record outbound calls to prospective customers and
document lost sales.
- Communicate inventory discrepancies and pricing issues to the Branch Manager.
- Identify, measure, and bend U-bolts as needed.
Counter Sales Representative II
- Perform all Level I responsibilities.
- Maintain a daily average of 25 customer invoices.
- Accurately identify, measure, and locate common parts independently.
- Verify customer accounts and pricing without assistance.
Counter Sales Representative III
- Perform all Level I and II responsibilities.
- Act as a master parts identifier and verify market-accurate pricing, recommending adjustments
when necessary.
- Provide input to the Branch Manager on purchase trends and stocking needs.
- Mentor, train, and support Level I team members.
Requirements:
Experience | Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 1 year retail sales experience preferred
- Familiarity with automotive repairs and parts preferred

- Personal protective equipment (PPE) for shop floor visits
- Office equipment (computers, printers, scanners)
- Company vehicle for travel between locations (as needed)
