Counter Sales- Santa Cruz (1-2 years exp)

COUNTER SALES (HVAC/R experience preferred)

Hours: M-F 7:30am – 4:30pm

Salary: Depends on experience

Counter Sales Associate contributes to branch sales growth and profitability by providing prompt, friendly and professional service to Johnstone Supply customers in-person and over the phone.

Job Duties
•Provide profitable customers with product or service information to assist them in determining appropriate merchandise to purchase.
•Develop relationships with new and existing customers and provide information to maximize sales volume.
•Research products required by customer and determine profitability of transaction and/or customer viability. May be required to place order with vendor and track progress of shipment and coordinate delivery to customer
•Recommend additional products to meet customer needs. May arrange special orders and delivery.
•Respond to incoming calls from prospective customers.
•Originate phone calls to prospective customers and provides information about products.
•Attend training classes regarding branch operations and products. Also required to study monthly flyer and use it as an educational and sales tool.
•Restock merchandise when needed, as well as perform other warehouse duties to include, but not limited to, pulling pick tickets, calling customer to notify orders have arrived, process warranty claims and ship out orders.
•Assist with planning and executing vendor or Open House Days, special events, promotions, inventory and buyback.
•Responsible for ensuring showroom shelves are stocked, clean and seasonally relevant.

Required:
•Superior customer service skills
•High school diploma, GED, or equivalent training, experience
•Initiative to take on new responsibilities and learn new things
•Strong computer skills
•Honesty and strong work ethic

Preferred:
•2 years experience in HVAC/R industry or equivalent training
•2 years experience as Sales Associate in wholesale or similar industry
