Counterintelligence Analyst

Accenture Federal Services' Security & Intelligence Directorate (S&ID) delivers physical security, insider threat mitigation, and counterintelligence support across federal engagements. The directorate safeguards AFS personnel, information, systems, and mission spaces by integrating:

  • Intelligence analysis
  • Risk assessment
  • Operational security functions

About the Counterintelligence & Insider Threat (CIT) Team

The CIT team conducts analytic, investigative, and operational activities to prevent, detect, assess, and mitigate threats posed by:

  • Malicious insiders
  • Foreign intelligence entities
  • External actors targeting AFS or federal clients

Analysts support threat assessments, investigations, operational security tasks, and intelligence production for internal and external stakeholders.

The work

Under the direction of the Chief, Risk Management Branch, the Intelligence Analyst will:

  • Build and execute an enhanced CI program in support of all AFS TS+ high-risk contracts (147), with initial concentration on specific Defense and Intel SAP related programs.
  • Collect, evaluate, and analyze information related to insider threat indicators, foreign intelligence risks, personnel behavior anomalies, and operational security concerns.
  • Produce clear, concise analytic assessments ranging from tactical incident-based reporting to strategic trend analysis, adhering to analytic tradecraft standards.
  • Conduct research and investigations using publicly available information (PAI), social media platforms, and structured data sources.
  • Monitor security, personnel, and operational data for indicators of elevated risk; prepare assessments or alerts as needed.
  • Collaborate with security operations, legal, HR, IT security, and federal project teams on risk assessment and mitigation efforts.
  • Maintain situational awareness of counterintelligence, insider threat, cybersecurity, and geopolitical developments affecting AFS operations.
  • Support incident response, crisis monitoring, and investigative tasks assigned by RMB and S&ID leadership.
  • Leverage professional networks, open-source tools, and government/industry partnerships to enhance threat awareness and analytic rigor.
  • Help pursue and develop the appropriate tools for collecting, tracking, aggregating and analyzing risk related information and data across all available sources.

What you need

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in intelligence studies, national security, international affairs, cybersecurity, criminal justice, or equivalent professional experience in a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in intelligence analysis, insider threat, security risk analysis, counterintelligence, or related fields.
  • Foundational training or experience in intelligence analysis, insider threat methodologies, or investigations.
  • Strong analytic and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify patterns, anomalies, and behavioral indicators across complex datasets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to present complex or sensitive information clearly to non‑technical audiences.
  • Experience conducting PAI research, digital footprint analysis, or social media investigations.
  • Understanding of insider threat programs, security best practices, or counterintelligence fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with analytic tools, OSINT platforms, case management systems, and relevant professional organizations.
  • TS+ Clearance with SCI or SCI eligibility.

Bonus if you have

  • Experience analyzing sensitive or confidential personnel, behavioral, or security information.
  • Knowledge of federal insider threat program standards (e.g., NISPOM, EO 13587, NITTF guidance).
  • Familiarity with federal cybersecurity, personnel security, or counterintelligence methodologies.
  • TS/SCI Clearance with poly
  • Certifications in intelligence analysis, insider threat, or counterintelligence (e.g., Insider Threat Program Manager/Analyst, CI training programs).
