The Country People Manager at Nokia drives employee engagement and organizational effectiveness by managing People / HR initiatives tailored to local business needs. This role involves advising leaders on people-related challenges, ensuring compliance with local legislation, and executing people policies that align with Nokia’s values. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to facilitate a positive employee experience while promoting fair employment practices and nurturing a cohesive workplace culture. Your leadership in managing industrial relationships and responding to external market influences will be pivotal in shaping a sustainable and agile workforce in the country.


  • Represent the People Organisation, offering guidance on all People / HR matters to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deliver client-focused solutions on people-related topics, ensuring positive employee experiences and compliance. Co-create and execute the Country People Agenda in collaboration with management, addressing local business needs.
  • Facilitate collaboration within the People Organisation community to support managers and employees effectively, as well as ensure compliance with local legislation and promote fair employment practices.
  • Manage restructuring planning and execution while fostering Nokia's culture and values.
  • Influence decision-making by leveraging local market knowledge and business acumen.
  • Provide coaching and advice on people management topics to employees and leaders.

Must-Have:

  • Bachelor or Post Graduate degree in Human Resources Management or a related field
  • At least 3 years of leadership or management experience, and a minimum 5 years of broad generalist HR experience in a multinational company
  • Strong knowledge of labour relations legislation and industrial relations
  • Some experience in administration of local retirement or gratuity funds
  • Proficiency in English and Urdu (written and verbal)

Nice-To-Have:

  • Experience in the telecommunications industry
  • Coaching skills for employee and manager development
  • Understanding of diversity and inclusion best practices
  • Experience with employer branding initiatives, and ability to navigate complex organizational environments
