Why does the job exist?

The County Director III will:
Administer resources, operational activities and supervises staff to ensure delivery of products and services to citizens, customers, clients, etc.;

Determine objective resource needs and allocates them within financial parameters set at the secondary policy level;

Manage a organizational section/ unit managed represents a considerable part of the department's total operations.

How does it get done?

The County Director III is responsible for:
Providing effective office administration and management within the Income Support Division (ISD) to ensure that performance and service is consistent with department's mission and goals;

Leading a team in providing timely, accurate customer service in accordance with federal and state regulations;

Ensuring compliance with federal laws, state laws and Health Care Authority (HCA) policies and procedures.

Income Support Division (ISD) Staff, Contractors, and Public Customers.

Health Care Authority (HCA) Staff;

Income Support Division (ISD) Staff, Contractors, and Public Customers.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Guidance and Counseling, Education, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Criminology, or Family Studies/Services and eight (8) years of experience as a social work assistant and/or in social or community coordination, working with communities, working on health or social service related matters, social work/case management experience, health care, and/or behavioral health care. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling twelve (12) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
