Patient Billing Representative

Job Purpose: To verify that all patients have proper insurance coverage necessary to cover the costs of receiving hospital care or to arrange some other mechanism for payment insuring the Hospital will receive payment. Gathers all information needed in order to complete the billing process. Assist walk in patients with questions on their accounts. Updates Meditech with insurance information supplied by patient services.

Education: Possess a High School diploma or equivalent.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: None

Experience: No previous experience.

Preferred: Possess knowledge of third party payors.
