COURIER DRIVER

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate a company vehicle to pick up and deliver materials, packages, and equipment in a safe and timely manner.
• Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Receive incoming materials, verify quantities and condition, and process receipts in the ERP system.
• Create and review packing slips, bills of lading, and delivery documentation.
• Load and unload materials using forklifts or other material‑handling equipment.
• Coordinate deliveries and receipts with the Procurement Supervisor and other internal stakeholders.
• Obtain delivery confirmations from vendors and internal departments.
• Perform inventory cycle counts and assist with inventory accuracy initiatives.
• Maintain communication regarding delivery schedules, delays, or incidents.
• Assist other departments as assigned, with supervisor approval.
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job.

EDUCATION:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Relevant delivery, logistics, receiving, or warehouse experience may substitute for formal education.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

• Have a valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• High level of reliability, integrity, and attention to detail.
• Basic proficiency with ERP systems and inventory processes.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts and material‑handling equipment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet delivery and receiving deadlines.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires a high level of physical flexibility, strength, and stamina, including the ability to: see and assess drawings, photos, and written instructions; audibly hear verbal instructions and mechanical signals; and speak, read, write, and communicate effectively.

• Must have full range of body movement.
• Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must maintain confidence and balance while working on ladders up to 12 feet tall.
• Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, equipment, hot materials, moderate to extreme noise, fumes, and airborne particles.
• Must agree to wear any and all necessary personal protective equipment to include but not limited to:

o Eye protection is required to reduce the risk of injury.

o Approved footwear required.

o Ear protection is required.

o Other PPE as necessary to perform duties.
