Courier Driver

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Courier Driver to support logistics and transportation operations. This role is responsible for the safe and efficient transport of patients, staff, visitors, and essential medical items between facilities, while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and care.

Key Responsibilities

• Transportation: Safely transport patients, visitors, and employees, as well as personal belongings, medical equipment, and documents using vehicles, stretchers, wheelchairs, or beds.
• Scheduling: Complete both scheduled and on-demand transport requests in a timely and efficient manner.
• Logistics Support: Pick up and deliver hospital-related items such as lab specimens, films, mail, and reports between facilities and physician offices.
• Compliance: Follow all local and state traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Communication: Coordinate with internal departments regarding pick-up and delivery needs; provide accurate updates via phone systems.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure assigned vehicles are clean, fueled, and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Safety Handling: Transport hazardous materials safely and in accordance with established protocols.
• Prioritization: Manage multiple tasks effectively, maintaining flexibility and sound judgment.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver’s License (DL)
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in conversational English
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ year of courier, delivery, or transportation experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Professional, courteous, and proactive attitude
• Ability to safely handle medical and hazardous materials (e.g., pharmacy items, chemicals)
• Experience operating patient transport equipment (stretchers, wheelchairs, beds) is a plus
• Ability to work assigned shifts with flexibility

Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Temporary

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
