About the Position:
The City of Grand Junction is searching for a Court Administrator to administer, supervise and participate in a variety of operational functions in support of municipal court services, parking ticket payments, ordinances, regulations, and records management. This position will direct court proceedings and enforcement procedures, as well as provide assistance and information to the general public. This position will also support and assist the Municipal Court Judge during court sessions and works closely with the City Attorney’s office.

What You'll Do:

  • Coordinate and administer the services and activities of the Municipal Court and parking operations.
  • Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review, and evaluate the work and performance of staff and court operations.
  • Provide customer service in the areas of municipal court services and parking; coordinate arraignments and track deadlines for completion of community service or court-ordered classes.
  • Perform computer inquiry of in-house records management system, National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Colorado Crime Information Center (CCIC) systems for wanted persons, warrant information, driver history and registration, attempt to locate, property, guns, vehicles and other information.
  • Establish schedules and methods for providing assigned municipal court operations; maintain court docket.
  • Provide case management for a variety of municipal court functions.
  • Oversee processing of court citations; coordinate field operations with internal and outside staff and agencies; issue parking permits and coordinate parking systems related to collection, payment, garage, and meters.
  • Prepare and process a wide variety of legal documents and forms issued by the Court including warrants, subpoenas, summons, holds, and other necessary documents.
  • Direct the collection of and accounting for all fees, fines, court costs, and any miscellaneous revenue payable to the Municipal Court; review all financial operations for accuracy.
  • Identify needs, recommend options, and implement new programs for more efficient and effective Court operations.

The selected candidate must comply with the City of Grand Junction’s Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards for handling and securing payment card information.

What We're Looking For:

  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible administrative support experience specifically in judicial and/or law enforcement or related field.
  • Associate degree from an accredited institution with course work in business administration, criminal justice or a related field.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Colorado driver's license.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain clearance to access NCIC/CCIC data.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, the City of Grand Junction Leadership Track certification within two (2) years of appointment.


Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
