High school diploma or general education diploma (GED); minimum three (3) years complex clerical and customer service experience. Previous court experience handling court documents and forms while relaying procedures and information to the public preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Ability to obtain CCIC Certification within 3 months of hire. (Certification includes ability to pass background investigation, training, and certification test.)

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret court related documents, policies and procedures, and related materials. Ability to deal with the public in a professional and tactful manner. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely to others and under normal and stressful conditions, both orally and in writing. Ability to present information effectively to individuals and small groups. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence using established policies and business English. Must possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills and the ability to deal with conflict tactfully.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to make computations and tabulations with accuracy and reasonable speed.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to understand and follow moderately complex oral and written instructions. Ability to apply common sense and knowledge to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with difficult situations involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to learn and proficiently perform all duties of the court within six months of hire. Ability to learn court computer software in a proficient and timely manner. Ability to gain and retain knowledge of the organization, responsibilities, functions, and procedures of the municipal court through training. Ability to work under pressure when working in the courtroom as a judge’s judicial assistant. Ability to effectively manage time and work production. Ability to perform with a high degree of accuracy and speed, independent judgment, initiative, teamwork, professionalism, and consideration. Proficient in general office procedures, use of related equipment. Working knowledge of MS Office required. Typing skills of 45 words per minute with 95% accuracy.
MATERIALS & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED
Operates computer, copying machines, typewriter, fax machine, calculator, phones, and other office equipment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and operate a computer terminal requiring manual dexterity and vision. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
