Overview
The Court Referral Officer is responsible for supervising and monitoring individuals referred by the court for substance use screening, education, and compliance with court-ordered conditions. This position serves as a liaison between the court system, treatment providers, and referred individuals to ensure compliance with applicable laws, court orders, and program requirement. The ideal candidate will possess strong clerical skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Must be comfortable to work in the legal field; criminal courts, jail systems, etc.
Duties
- Conduct intake interviews and assessments for individuals referred by the court
- Explain court orders, program requirements, deadlines, and participant responsibilities
- Schedule, administer, and monitor drug and alcohol testing in accordance with court policy
- Collect and process program fees and maintain accurate financial records
- Refer participants to approved education, counseling, or treatment programs as required
- Monitor participant compliance with court-ordered conditions and program rules
- Maintain accurate, confidential case files and documentation in compliance with state laws and court standards
- Prepare written reports, compliance summaries, and violation notices for the court
- Notify the court of noncompliance, missed appointments, failed tests, or program violations
- Communicate regularly with judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, law enforcement, treatment providers, and other court personnel
- Testify in court when required regarding participant compliance and program records
- Ensure adherence to applicable statutes, administrative rules, and court policies
- Provide professional and respectful interactions with participants while maintaining accountability
- Manage scheduling, appointments, and daily office operations related to court referrals
- Perform administrative duties including data entry, correspondence, and record retention
Experience
- Entry level.
- All training will be paid for through employer.
- Law enforcement preferred but not at all required.
Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
