Qualifications:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and preferred major course work in corrections, counseling, criminology, psychology, social work, sociology or a closely related field. Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid driver’s license. Must submit to a name based criminal background check and have no disqualifying convictions. Must not be registered on a child abuse or adult abuse registry in any state. Must submit to and pass a urinalysis test prior to employment. If employed, the new employee is required to pass a fingerprint-based background check.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Court Services Officer’s duties include but are not limited to the following:

Supervision of adult and juvenile offenders placed on probation and pre-trial bond supervision by the District Court

Supervision of Child in Need of Care cases assigned by the District Court

Prepare presentence and predisposition reports and other court reports as requested

Communication and interaction with offenders and other relevant parties in the investigation and preparation of reports for the Court.

Identifying an offender’s needs and risk to the community and referring offenders to appropriate community resources for assistance.

Maintains chronological records of client contacts and of the caseload in general.

Requires obtaining LSCMI, WRNA, YLS, and EPICS certifications within 12 months of employment

Prepare reports related to the transfer of supervision, progress and violations of probation

Requires working closely with law enforcement and other community agencies.
