SALARY:

The salary range for this position is $72,030.32 to $125,060.49 for Schedule A, and $72,030.32 to $118,807.46 for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater. Judiciary employees hired prior to June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or afterJune3,2014, are considered Schedule B.

The Burlington Vicinage is seeking a motivated, organized and self-directed individual to serve as a Court Services Supervisor 2 in the Probation Division.

REMOTE WORK: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.

Example of Duties

Under the general direction of the Court Executive 2B (Vicinage Division Manager), Court Executive 1B (Vicinage Assistant Division Manager, Supervision Unit), the Court Services Supervisor 2 will monitor, assign, coordinate, evaluate, review, lead, and oversee the work activities and staff resources of a team consisting of Probation Officers—who are responsible for enforcing orders of the Court—and clerical staff who support the unit. The selected candidate will assign workloads, direct and coordinate work within and between teams, oversee special projects, and communicate human resources policies, rules, and regulations to team members while championing the principles of the Enhanced Outcome-Based Supervision (EOBS) Model. The Supervisor will ensure compliance with all Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) and NJ Judiciary policies and procedures. They will coordinate team members schedules, work hours and vacation time, conduct formal work performance evaluations, and mediate staff conflicts. Duties also include reviewing and correcting work and written reports for accuracy and completeness and developing and formulating procedures or practices for efficient operations using data-driven standards.

Additional responsibilities include leading and mentoring staff in utilizing best practices and tools—such as the Risk Needs-Responsivity (RNA) instrument, Core Correctional Practice skills, and Structured Response Grid Policy. The supervisor will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders, interact with community leaders and organizations, identify and analyze problems to enforce court orders, and ensure the delivery of quality client service to a diverse and multilingual population. Excellent communication, interpersonal, team-building, and technical skills are essential.

Positions in the supervision unit may require working an Alternate Work Schedule, including late nights.


Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and three years of professional experience, one year of which shall have included experience in calendar management; case management; enforcement of court orders; and/or supervision, monitoring and intervention of offenders.

Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits. An associate's degree and two years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. A master's degree may be substituted for one year of general experience as indicated above - OR - a law degree may be substituted for two years of general experience as indicated above.

Note: Court Services Supervisor 2 is an unclassified position, and the Judiciary has the non-reviewable right to remove employees in this position. Removed employees in this position will be permitted to return to their previously held career service title and if no prior career service title was held, the Judiciary will make good faith reasonable efforts to place the employee in another position.

Driver's License: Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.

Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
