Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical experienced Tax Manager or Accountant join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for examining financial records and ensuring proper preparation of income tax returns and assisting in management of our tax practice. This role requires a strong understanding of individual and business taxes, and the ability to analyze complex financial data. CPA or EA preferred but other experience with tax preparation will be considered.

Responsibilities (depending on experience)

• Review client accounting data and prepare and or review business, nonprofit and individual tax returns.
• Collaborate with clients to gather necessary documentation and clarify any discrepancies found during audits or tax return preparation.
• Utilize accounting software, including QuickBooks, Microsoft programs and tax software (CCH Axcess and/or Drake) to facilitate the tax process.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
• Assist with managing the tax practice of the firm.

Skills

• Experience with tax preparation of business, nonprofit and individual tax returns.
• Ability to analyze financial data effectively and identify areas for improvement or concern.
• Experience with tax software such as CCH Prosystems Fx, CCH Axcess, or Drake preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple clients and engagements simultaneously.
