Tax Manager (5+ yrs exp REQ)

About the Company:

Dansa D’Arata Soucia LLP is an independent, non-venture capital backed CPA and consulting firm based in downtown Buffalo, New York. With a team of approximately 40 professionals, we provide tax, assurance and accounting, information security compliance, consulting, outsourced accounting, and transactional advisory services to clients across a range of industries.

We are proud to offer a professional environment built on trust, autonomy, and accountability. Our team members are given the freedom to manage their work, build client relationships, and contribute meaningfully without unnecessary layers of oversight or micromanagement. We believe experienced professionals do their best work when they are trusted, supported, and empowered.

As an independent firm, we are focused on long-term relationships, practical client service, and sustainable growth rather than outside investor priorities. DDS values technical excellence, collaboration, and a culture where people can take ownership of their work while continuing to grow professionally.

About the Position:

Dansa D’Arata Soucia LLP is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our tax practice. This role is ideal for a motivated tax professional who enjoys managing client relationships, reviewing complex tax work, developing team members, and contributing to the continued growth of the firm.

This person will have the opportunity to assume responsibility for larger and more complex clients with the support of partners and experienced team members.

We are looking for someone who is confident, dependable, and capable of delivering excellent client service without daily oversight. The right candidate will be trusted to manage moderately complex to complex client work, communicate proactively, exercise good judgment, and help ensure our clients continue receiving the high level of service they expect from DDS.

  • Coordinate workflow, budgets, deadlines, and staffing needs across multiple engagements.
  • Assist partners with client management, practice development, and process improvements.
  • Stay current on tax law changes and help ensure firm compliance with professional standards.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA license preferred; CPA eligibility or EA designation may also be considered.

  • Comfortable leading people and developing junior team members.
  • Collaborative, approachable, and willing to contribute to a team-first culture.
  • Proactive in identifying issues, opportunities, and process improvements.
