Qualification

Experience

Minimum 5 - 7 years’ experience operating large-capacity cranes in construction or industrial settings.
Completion of a certified crane operator training program or apprenticeship.

Requirements

Proficient in operating 70-ton cranes with strong knowledge of crane operation principles and rigging techniques.
Ability to read and interpret load charts, blueprints, and lift plans.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness (Dover test).
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
Physically fit and capable of safe crane operation.
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to crane operations.

Responsibilities

Operate a 70-ton crane to lift and move materials, equipment, and structures safely and efficiently.
Attach, lift, and release loads using appropriate rigging equipment, ensuring proper securing and balance.
Conduct pre-operational inspections of the crane and rigging equipment to identify defects or hazards.
Follow safety protocols, including signalling and maintaining clear work areas to prevent accidents.
Communicate effectively with site supervisors, signallers, and team members during lifting operations.
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubrication, inspection, and minor repairs on the crane.
Maintain accurate records of crane operation, maintenance, and safety inspections.
Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly to the maintenance department.
