Job Summary:

The Crawlspace Encapsulation Technician is responsible for installing moisture control and insulation systems in residential or commercial crawlspaces. This includes sealing foundations, installing vapor barriers, sump pumps, drainage systems, and dehumidifiers to prevent moisture damage, mold growth, and improve energy efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect crawlspaces to identify moisture issues, structural concerns, and repair needs.
  • Clean and prepare crawlspace areas (remove debris, old insulation, and damaged materials).
  • Install vapor barriers, liners, insulation, drainage systems, sump pumps, and dehumidifiers.
  • Seal vents, joints, and seams using appropriate tapes, adhesives, or mechanical fasteners.
  • Ensure installations meet company standards, local codes, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Operate power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environments.
  • Communicate clearly with customers and supervisors about project progress and issues.
  • Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment to job sites.
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, crawl in confined spaces, and work in varying conditions (heat, cold, dampness).
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and attention to detail.

Preferred:

  • Experience in crawlspace encapsulation, waterproofing, or construction.
  • Knowledge of vapor barrier materials, insulation, drainage systems, and dehumidifiers.
  • Basic carpentry, plumbing, or electrical skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent crawling, bending, and lifting in confined spaces.
  • Exposure to dirt, moisture, and varying temperatures.
  • Typically works as part of a 2–4 person crew.
  • Some overtime and travel may be required.

  • Quality and completeness of installations.
  • Compliance with safety and company standards.
  • Customer satisfaction ratings.
  • Timeliness and efficiency of job completion.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
