We are seeking a Creative Agency Talent Advisor-a former Creative Director, Agency Director, or equivalent leader-to act as a strategic bridge between our client, a leading creative agency, and our internal recruiting team.
This is not a traditional recruiting role.
Instead, you will bring firsthand agency experience to shape talent strategy, elevate candidate quality, and ensure alignment between hiring decisions and real-world creative excellence.
You will serve as an embedded advisor and quality gatekeeper-helping define what "great" looks like, guiding recruiters, and ensuring every candidate meets the agency's standards, culture, and business needs.
- Build and maintain a strong, trusted relationship with the creative agency client
- Develop deep understanding of:Creative processes and workflows
- Team structure and capability gaps
- Culture, pace, and expectations
- Hiring philosophy and decision-making style
- Act as the primary liaison between the client and recruiting team
- Translate client feedback into actionable direction for recruiters
- Define success profiles for each role beyond the job description
- Translate business needs into clear talent requirements
- Guide recruiters on sourcing strategies aligned with agency expectations
- Continuously refine candidate profiles based on evolving priorities
- Conduct high-level screening conversations with top candidates
- Evaluate candidates through a creative agency lens, including:Portfolio quality and creative thinking
- Role-specific expertise (Design, Copy, Strategy, etc.)
- Collaboration style and team fit
- Client-facing communication skills
- Serve as a quality filter to ensure only well-aligned candidates move forward
- Elevate the quality and consistency of candidate submissions
- Provide clear, structured candidate summaries and recommendations
- Improve candidate experience through thoughtful engagement
- Reduce noise by presenting only high-caliber, vetted talent
- Former Creative Director, Agency Director, or senior leadership role within a creative agency
- Strong experience in agency environments (branding, advertising, digital, or integrated)
- Proven experience building, hiring, or evaluating creative teams
- Ability to assess creative talent beyond resumes
- Strong portfolio evaluation skills across disciplines
- Deep understanding of agency roles, including:Design
- Copywriting
- Strategy
- Account Management
- Production
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strategic thinking with the ability to translate business needs into hiring criteria
- Fluency in creative agency workflows, communication styles, and feedback processes
- You have led, mentored, or hired creative professionals within an agency
- You can clearly distinguish between good and exceptional talent
- You can interpret portfolios, resumes, and interviews with nuance
- You enjoy influencing hiring outcomes without needing a traditional agency leadership role
