BBC Studios’ Global Creative department is seeking a Creative Director to lead and evolve how the BBC’s international digital and subscription products are expressed across platforms, including BBC.com Subscription, the BBC app, BBC Select, and BBC Podcasts.
The BBC reaches global audiences through some of the most trusted journalism and storytelling in the world. In this role, you will help shape how that work is expressed across digital and marketing platforms, guiding creative systems, storytelling approaches, and brand expression that bring BBC content to life for international audiences. You will also play a key role in evolving the BBC’s global brand expression to meet new formats, audiences, and platforms.
Working across the BBC’s growing subscription and streaming ecosystem, you will ensure that journalism, documentaries, and audio storytelling are presented with clarity, craft, and a deep respect for editorial values. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on creative judgment, shaping how BBC stories are experienced across brand and marketing touchpoints.
You will help establish and evolve how the BBC’s journalism and storytelling are expressed across global digital platforms. This includes strengthening the creative systems that support subscription and streaming products, ensuring that brand and content experiences feel clear, cohesive, and aligned with the BBC’s editorial principles.
You will also shape how multidisciplinary creative teams collaborate across editorial, marketing, and product-adjacent functions, bringing greater clarity, consistency, and craft to the BBC’s global creative expression. As the BBC’s international subscription and streaming ecosystem grows, your leadership will help ensure audiences encounter BBC content in ways that feel thoughtful, trustworthy, and distinctive.

Provide clear expectations, constructive critique, and guidance to uphold strong creative standards. Represent the creative team in senior-level discussions, planning sessions, and cross-functional alignment conversations. Shape roles, workflows, and creative processes as the subscription and content ecosystem evolves. Build and scale teams through freelancers, partners, and external agencies when needed.
Contribute hands-on when doing so improves clarity, focus, or craft.
BBC Studios’ Global Creative department shapes how the BBC shows up commercially and creatively around the world across every touchpoint. This includes digital products such as BBC.com Subscription, the BBC app, streaming partners, social channels, campaigns, and any moment where international audiences encounter the BBC outside the UK public service.
As the BBC continues its digital and commercial transformation beyond the UK, this team helps bring the BBC’s public service values to global audiences in ways that feel contemporary, relevant, and trustworthy. You will guide how subscription and streaming content—including daily reporting, long-form documentaries, and audio programming—is presented in ways that support understanding and connection. Your work will ensure every interaction feels clear, credible, and aligned with the BBC’s editorial principles, shaping how some of the BBC’s most impactful journalism and storytelling are experienced worldwide.
The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $150,000 - $165,000 +15% Bonus. This does not include bonus compensation or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and geographic location of the position.
