The Creative Manager will lead a team of designers, copywriters, and editors while contributing directly to the copywriting process. You will manage, mentor, and develop team members while also actively producing high-quality content for a range of projects such as digital campaigns, email campaigns, program page copy, brand messaging and more.
Role Responsibilities:
Team Leadership

Lead, manage, and mentor a small creative team, fostering a collaborative and inspiring environment.

Provide constructive feedback and career development support for team members.

Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews, ensuring project goals are met.

Oversee copy and make sure it is in alignment with the project/campaign ask: audience, tone, brand, voice, objective, funnel area, channel placement, etc.
Creative Strategy & Execution

Work closely with Senior Creative Director and Brand Manager to develop and execute creative strategies that align with partner goals.

Oversee the creative production ensuring high-quality output.

Develop copy that aligns with audiences and where they are in the marketing funnel.
Copywriting & Content Creation

Take a hands-on approach to writing and editing copy for various marketing materials, including websites, social media, emails, OTT/CTV, marketing materials, and more.

Craft compelling narratives that resonate with target audiences, ensuring tone and messaging are consistent across all channels.

Edit and refine content produced by team members to ensure it meets brand guidelines and quality standards.

Leverage performance insights to refine messaging approaches and optimize copy effectiveness.

Serve as the key point of contact between the creative team and other departments to ensure alignment on creative goals and project timelines.

Work with the creative operations manager to allocate resources when necessary.

Collaborate with Senior Creative Director on creative tools needed, new tool proposals including stock sites, ai software, design software, etc.

Bachelor’s degree in English, marketing, communications, journalism or related field
Required Skills

Proven experience in copy and content creation – writing, editing and proofing

Content optimization for different delivery modalities

5+ years management experience leading creative teams and projects

Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, ChatGPT, and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite

Experience leading and participating in client presentations
- An understanding of the Higher Education and Post-Secondary Education sector is a plus
