Role Purpose:

Lead and manage the rating department responsible for evaluating the creditworthiness of corporate, financial institutions, and structured finance products. Ensure a robust, transparent, and compliant credit rating process aligned with international standards (S&P, Moody’s, Fitch methodologies) and local regulatory requirements (CBE, FRA).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate rating results to clients, regulators, and senior management.
  • Represent the agency in industry forums, conferences, and regulatory discussions.
  • Implement quality controls, audit processes, and periodic methodology reviews.
  • Maintain data integrity and robust risk documentation.
  • Develop and execute the organization’s credit rating strategy.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise rating analysts.
  • Set rating methodologies and ensure alignment with global best practices.
  • Oversee the full rating cycle: data collection, analysis, rating committee, and publication.
  • Approve or challenge rating committee recommendations.
  • Ensure consistent application of models and standards.
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory frameworks (CBE, FRA, Basel).
  • Maintain high governance and transparency standards.


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Experience: 10–15 years in credit rating methodologies, credit risk, or risk management (Banking/NBFI background is a plus).
  • Strong financial analysis capabilities.
  • Proven experience in presentations, communication (including C-Level), and negotiation.
  • Availability for frequent travel (including internationally).
  • Education: Degree in Economics or related field (Master’s is a plus).
  • Excellent command of English
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and tools supporting sales and pre-sales activities.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with a commercial mindset.
  • Ability to work toward objectives in a competitive market.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to deep dive into all aspects of credit rating propositions.
  • Leadership, Decision Making , Communication and stakeholder management
  • Deep knowledge of rating methodologies (Corporate, FI, SME, Structured Finance).
  • Strong financial modeling and analysis skills.
  • Familiarity with CBE, FRA regulations, and Basel frameworks.
