General Qualifications
Experience : Minimum 4–5 years of hands-on experience in credit risk model validation—including PD, LGD, and EAD models—within a banking or financial institution environment. Experience with both retail and commercial segments is preferred.
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Quantitative Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or Engineering. A Master's degree or certifications such as FRM, PRM, or CFA is a plus.
Technical Proficiency : Solid knowledge of validation frameworks, back-testing methodologies, and quantitative techniques. Proficient in tools such as SAS, R, Python, or equivalent statistical software.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with IFRS 9, EBA, Basel III, and local regulatory requirements for credit risk models.
Analytical & Critical Thinking : Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail, and the ability to challenge assumptions constructively and communicate findings clearly.
English Proficiency : Excellent command of English, both in verbal and written communication.
Communication & Collaboration : Ability to independently draft validation reports, challenge model assumptions, and discuss findings with model developers and senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibility
Model Validation : Independently perform quantitative and qualitative validation of PD, LGD, and EAD models developed for IFRS 9 and regulatory capital purposes, as well as other analytical models used within the credit risk domain. Evaluate conceptual soundness, data integrity, estimation methods, and performance monitoring of models. Document validation results and provide actionable recommendations for model improvements.
Monitoring & Reporting : Support the development of model monitoring frameworks. Track model performance over time and assess ongoing model relevance. Keep model validation policy and procedures up-to-date.
Stakeholder Communication : Collaborate constructively with model development teams to understand design choices, challenge assumptions, and agree on remedial actions. Communicate findings to respective stakeholders.
