We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Criminal Defense Attorney to join our legal team as COUNSEL This role offers an exciting opportunity to advocate fiercely for clients facing criminal charges, ensuring their rights are protected and justice is served. As a vital member of our firm, you will handle a diverse caseload, develop strategic defense plans, and represent clients in court proceedings. Your expertise will help uphold the principles of fairness and integrity within the criminal justice system. Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal counsel and representation to clients accused of various criminal offenses, including misdemeanors and felonies.
  • Draft legal documents, motions, pleadings, and briefs with precision and clarity
  • Negotiate plea agreements with prosecutors to achieve favorable outcomes for clients
  • Prepare for and represent clients at arraignments, hearings, trials, and sentencing proceedings
  • Investigate case facts by reviewing evidence, interviewing witnesses, and consulting with experts when necessary
  • Maintain detailed case files and ensure compliance with all procedural requirements throughout the litigation process

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar in good standing
  • Proven experience in criminal law practice, including familiarity with criminal procedures and courtroom procedures
  • Strong research skills utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research platforms
  • Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and communicating complex legal concepts clearly
  • Ability to handle a broad range of legal issues such as estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, family law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, landlord-tenant law, litigation, and legal administrative experience
  • Exceptional negotiation skills to advocate effectively on behalf of clients
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating within a team-oriented environment

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $85,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
