Rivera y Bujosa Law Office, P.L.L.C. is a dedicated law firm specializing in Criminal Defense and Immigration Law. Our team is passionate about delivering the strongest defense possible for our clients.

With a team of over fourteen professionals, we are seeking a full-time, experienced Attorney to join our Immigration / Criminal Department. We are looking for an individual who demonstrates a strong team mentality, high ethical standards, and a solid commitment to our clients and causes.

Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.

Position Overview

As an Attorney handling Texas State Criminal cases and Immigration matters, you will manage a diverse caseload in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is highly disciplined, able to work without a set schedule, and possesses excellent reading, writing, grammar, and research skills in both English and Spanish.

This position is 100% in-person and requires the ability to work under pressure, meet strict deadlines, multitask efficiently, and maintain exceptional client communication.

Counties Served

The Attorney will represent clients and appear in courts across the following counties:

  • Harris County
  • Montgomery County
  • Fort Bend County
  • Brazoria County
  • Galveston County
  • Walker County

Willingness and availability to travel between these counties is required.

Key Responsibilities

Criminal State Cases

  • Represent clients in arraignments, hearings, and trials
  • Conduct thorough legal research and gather relevant case information
  • Draft motions, briefs, appeals, and legal pleadings with precise and exact writing
  • Review and analyze discovery materials, police reports, and evidence
  • Negotiate with prosecutors to secure favorable plea agreements when appropriate
  • Maintain consistent and professional client communication
  • Communicate with court staff, prosecutors, and legal personnel
  • Manage court calendars, deadlines, and appointments

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Immigration and/or Criminal State Law (preferred)
  • Licensed to practice in the State of Texas and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing)
  • Excellent writing, grammar, and legal research skills
  • Highly disciplined and capable of working without a set schedule
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Reliable transportation and a valid Texas Driver’s License
  • Willingness to travel throughout multiple counties

Compensation

  • Salary: $70,000 – $90,000 per year (based on experience)
  • Performance-based bonuses

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday
  • On-call as needed
