Criminal Defense Attorney

Job Summary

Established criminal defense law firm with many years of experience, is seeking a FULL-TIME Contract attorney in Pasadena and surrounding Counties. Will handle own case-load from beginning to end on ALL CRIMINAL CASES including misdemeanors and felonies. Must have experience in handling all types of criminal matters with ability to handle criminal cases from start to end. Must be willing to handle a heavy case-load. Client interaction is a must. Duties

• Represent clients in criminal court proceedings, including arraignments, hearings, trials, and plea negotiations.
• Draft legal documents such as motions, briefs, and pleadings with precision and clarity.
• Advise clients on their legal rights and options throughout the criminal justice process.
• Negotiate with prosecutors to achieve favorable plea agreements when appropriate.
• Investigate case facts by reviewing evidence, interviewing witnesses, and consulting experts in areas such as forensic science or accident reconstruction.
• Stay current on developments in criminal law and related field.
• Maintain meticulous case files and ensure compliance with all legal standards and deadlines.
• Collaborate with colleagues within the law office to strategize case approaches and share insights.

Skills

• Extensive knowledge of criminal defense procedures and substantive criminal law.
• Strong negotiation skills to effectively advocate for clients during plea bargaining or settlement discussions.
• Excellent writing skills for drafting motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Ability to conduct comprehensive legal research as needed for case preparation.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop strategic solutions.
• Legal drafting expertise combined with strong organizational skills for managing multiple cases efficiently.
• Prior legal administrative experience is preferred to ensure smooth case management workflows.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
