Nicola Cummings Law Firm is seeking an experienced Criminal Defense Paralegal to support attorneys handling misdemeanor and felony cases in State, Superior, and Municipal Courts throughout Georgia.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, file, and manage pleadings, motions, and court documents for misdemeanor and felony matters
• Track court dates, arraignments, motion hearings, trials, and sentencing deadlines
• Prepare case files for State Court, Superior Court, and Municipal Court appearances
• Request, organize, and manage discovery from prosecutors and law enforcement
• Communicate with clients regarding court dates, bond conditions, warrants, and case status
• Coordinate with prosecutors, clerks, and court staff
• Assist attorneys with motions hearings, jury trials, and plea negotiations
• Maintain accurate notes and files in the case management system

Qualifications

• Criminal defense or litigation paralegal experience handling misdemeanor and felony cases
• Familiarity with Georgia criminal procedure and court systems
• Strong organizational, deadline-management, and communication skills
• Ability to manage a high-volume criminal caseload
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software
