Responsible for screening, assessing, training, and providing telephonic intervention/de-escalation for helpline callers using established protocols to determine an immediate course of action.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Takes inbound calls, texts and chats from individuals needing support, services, or who may be in crisis.

  • Performs safety screenings and assessments to discern presence and acuity of risk to the safety of the individual or others.

  • Uses information provided by the caller and obtained during the screenings and assessments to accurately understand the individual's needs and develop a plan of action in collaboration with the individual.

  • Completes appropriate, timely, and accurate documentation of interactions in accordance with established criteria.

  • Provides linkage follow-up as directed to assure individual accessed services. Coordinates with other agencies, organizations and individuals to insure optimal use of resources, services and natural support systems.

  • Ensures compliance with all HIPAA, OSHA, and other federal, state, and local regulations.

Requirements:

  • Requires a HS diploma or the equivalent and a minimum of 1 year of experience in behavioral health or a minimum of 6 months of direct crisis experience to include screenings and assessments to determine appropriate interventions; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

  • BS/BA degree in a mental health or other human services field and two years of experience working directly with individuals in need of behavioral health services strongly preferred. Certain contracts require a BS/BA degree.

  • Must be fluent in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Teams. Some knowledge with OneNote Preferred

  • Experience with call center environment - a bonus

  • Crisis experience, ability to stay calm in difficult conversations and handle difficult personalities.

  • Computer skills are a must.

  • Attendance and dependability are expected.

Additional Details:

  • Work Location: 9133 W Russell Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89148. This role requires in-office work two days per week. You may choose any two days Monday through Thursday (for candidates selecting the 1st shift - 8am schedule). Otherwise, the position is fully remote.

  • Schedule pending- 3 shifts available; schedules will cover morning, afternoon and overnights and all 7 days of week.

    8am -4:30pm: Tues - Sat
    8am-4:30pm: Sun-Thurs OR Thurs - Mon.
    4pm-12:30am: Thurs- Monday
    12am-8:30am: Sun- Thurs
    12am-8:30am- Tues - Sat

  • Holidays are also required; they will be required to work 2-3 holidays over the course of the 6 months they are with us.

  • There is no expectation of OT but sometimes a call may run past the end of their shift. When this happens, they will be expected to stay on that call until it is completed.

  • Training is for the first 4 weeks. It runs from 8am-4:30apm PST. It is 100% WFH, even if the applicant is working a shift the requires them to go into the office. After those 4 weeks of training, the temps will transition into the shift we hired them for.

Elevance Health operates in a Hybrid Workforce Strategy. Unless specified as primarily virtual by the hiring manager, contractors are required to work at an Elevance Health location at least once per week, and potentially several times per week. Specific requirements and expectations for time onsite will be discussed as part of the hiring process.

Pay Rate Range

22.36 - 32.07 USD hourly

The pay range is the range BCForward in good faith believes is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future and actual compensation may vary from posting based on geographic location, work experience, education and/or skill level. Even within the range, the actual compensation will vary depending on the above factors as well as market/business considerations.
