Responsible for providing patient care within the Registered Nurse scope of practice utilizing critical thinking skills to manage ill or injured patients during transport between healthcare facilities. Routinely transports patients who are unstable and in critical condition, to facilities where a higher level of care can be given
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
2. Assumes responsibility for total patient care when in the best interest of the patient's needs.
3. Documents the patient's plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventions.
4. Conveys all pertinent information regarding the patient to the receiving facility.
5. Interprets and implements physician's transport orders.
6. Provides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patient environment.
7. Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
8. Participates in CQI for the Critical Care Transport Program.
9. Participates in training related to the Critical Care Transport Program.
10. Ensures patient's rights and confidentiality.
11. Maintains certifications and skills as required by both state and local authorities
Hourly Range: 48.00 - 84.50 / hr.
Required:
1. Graduate of an accredited Nursing Education Program
2. Current NJ state licensure as a Registered Nurse or Multistate RN able to work in NJ
3. 3+ years of experience in Nursing in ICU or ED setting.
4. BLS certification required
5. ACLS certification
6. PALS certification
7. Valid New Jersey Driver’s License, unrestricted driving record
Preferred:
1. EMT, Paramedic, or MICN
2. CTRN or CFRN certification (required within 1 year of hire date)
3. NRP
4. PHTLS, TNCC, or ATCN
5. Pennsylvania RN and PHRN
6. Bachelor or Master’s degree in nursing
