Summary:
The Center for Student Belonging (CSB) is seeking a graduate student to provide administrative and multimedia support that enhances the center’s branding, marketing, communications, and overall visibility. This position combines marketing and creating content development with essential administrative functions to ensure smooth operations and impactful outreach.
Essential Functions:
1.) Administrative Support
Support office coverage, event logistics, including registration, materials, and follow-up communications Coordinate scheduling, meetings, and calendar management for CSB programs and staff.
Assist with email correspondence, document preparation, and research.
Maintain organized digital files for departmental projects.
2.) Multimedia & Marketing Support
Develop and implement strategies for multimedia content creation.
Design and edit creative concepts for multimedia projects using various design software.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure content aligns with brand messaging and marketing goals.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
Stay current with emerging technologies and design trends.
Provide technical support for multimedia equipment and software.
Edit video and audio recordings for use on CSB’s website and educational programs.
Develop analytical reports on media strategies and social media performance.
Perform general office tasks and other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
Must be enrolled in a graduate program at American University for the 2025–2026 academic year and maintain enrollment for the duration of your employment.
Ability to understand and navigate complex topics related to individual differences, including physical and cognitive abilities, cultural background, economic circumstances, personal beliefs, and life experiences.
Proficiency in multimedia and design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro) and strong understanding of design principles.
Experience managing social media platforms and creating engaging digital content to support branding and communications.
Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and collaboration skills for working across teams and delivering clear messaging.
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and software.
Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and basic HTML/CSS.
Previous experience in an administrative or office support role.
