Job Description:

Join the team at Cornhusker State Industries (CSI)! CSI is a self-supporting program of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS), providing workforce training to approximately 450 incarcerated men and women.

DUTIES:

• Pickup and deliver laundry carts and assist with other deliveries as necessary
• Assist and supervise the loading of trucks, ensure that truck is loaded correctly
• Responsible for performing pre-trip vehicle checks, safety checks and inspections daily; maintain

fluid levels and minor repairs

• Work with and supervise inmates as needed at the institution and in public; occasionally required to

assist in lifting/ moving heavy objects in excess of 100 lbs

Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications : At least 18 years of age, high school education or equivalent, a valid driver's license and must be able to legally possess a firearm and ammunition.

Preferred Qualifications : Equipment maintenance experience. Minimum of two years of experience in loading and driving light or medium sized trucks.

Other : Must have a valid Class B CDL or the ability to obtain one within 90 days after completion of the Corrections Training Program.* Basic computer knowledge. Some overtime and overnight stays required. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam, and at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid Nebraska Corrections Training Program.
