Summary

The radiology technologist / student coordinate and perform diagnostic imaging exams for patients. The technologist / student work effectively with their patients and family members to provide quality exams for the radiologist and or ordering physicians. The technologist / student pursue opportunities to improve health care by involvement in the Performance Improvement activities.

Qualifications

Other information:

  • Current Active RN License
  • Act 34 PA Criminal Clearance
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance
  • FBI Clearance
  • Graduate of an accredited Imaging Program. (student technologists must have their required competencies completed and a recommendation from the school director)
  • Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registry eligible (Student Imaging Technologists must be enrolled in an accredited program and able to take their registry upon completion of their studies.)
  • Flexibility to work occasional overtime as necessary. (student technologists are not permitted to work in the department alone, there must be an experienced Imaging Technologist on the premises)
  • Displays a good understanding of age-related development issues of pediatrics and geriatrics.
  • The technologist must continuously update their skills and knowledge. Students must continually demonstrate competency through mechanisms defined by hospital policy.
