Position Summary
Vallivue High School is seeking a knowledgeable and student-centered CTE Instructor to lead courses in Agricultural Mechanics, Welding, and Small Engines. The ideal candidate will provide hands-on, skills-based instruction that prepares students for post-secondary education, industry certifications, and careers in the trades.
Key Responsibilities

Teach courses in agricultural mechanics, welding, and small engine repair aligned to Idaho CTE standards

Develop and implement engaging, hands-on lessons that emphasize safety, technical skill development, and real-world application

Maintain a safe and organized shop environment, including proper use and care of tools and equipment

Instruct students on industry-standard practices, including welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick) and small engine diagnostics/repair
-
Integrate employability skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving into daily instruction

Assess student progress and provide timely feedback on both technical and academic skills

Support and advise student leadership organizations such as FFA (Future Farmers of America), if applicable

Collaborate with staff, administration, and industry partners to enhance program relevance and opportunities for students

Ensure compliance with district policies, safety regulations, and CTE program requirements
Qualifications

Valid Idaho Teaching Certificate with appropriate CTE endorsement or ability to obtain certification

Industry experience in agricultural mechanics, welding, small engines, or related field preferred

Knowledge of shop safety standards and OSHA guidelines

Strong classroom management and instructional skills

Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and community partners

Commitment to student success and career readiness
Preferred Qualifications

Experience teaching in a CTE or shop setting

FFA experience or willingness to support student leadership activities

Certifications in welding or small engine repair (e.g., AWS or equivalent)
Work Environment
This position involves both classroom and shop-based instruction, requiring active supervision of students using tools and equipment in a hands-on learning environment.
