Primary Purpose:
Teach Graphic Design and/or Commercial Photography to students. Work with students to design, photograph and create in Adobe suite to prepare them for certification tests and careers in the Graphic Design field
Qualifications:Education/Certification:- Valid teacher certification
- Technical Applications
- Technical Education
- Bachelor’s degree - preferred
Preferred Experience:- At least three (3) years’ experience working with graphic design, AV, commercial photography or related fields.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:Instructional Strategies:- Prepare students to pass the industry-based certification exam for graphic design.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of TEA curriculum in Arts, A/V Tech & Communications.
- Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
- Conduct assessment of student learning style and use results to plan instructional activities.
- Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives and methods according to district and state requirements.
- Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
Student Growth and Development:- Be a positive role model for students and support the mission of the school district.
- Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal teaching.
- Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
- Participate in related Career Tech Student Organization’s (CTSO’s) for their program including preparing and traveling with students to competitions if applicable.
Classroom Management and Organization:- Create classroom environments conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
- Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
